Mélange en Cuivre

 

An artistic interplay of creams and whites work adeptly to, first, conceal and, then, reveal subtle earthy hues of mauve and marsala, accented by highlights of metallic copper ("cuivre" in French), making this piece aptly named "Mélange en Cuivre."  Brush strokes are actually strokes made with a putty knife -- the hallmark technique of B W Pryor's "Mélange" series in which the artist delights in the three-dimensional, almost sculptural, effect that this type of construction tool imbues to the work.  Your living or work space will enjoy a quiet neutrality with this abstract composition as its backdrop.
